The Bird and the Bee Cover Van Halen Classics in Full Tribute Album
The group’s Interpreting the Masters Volume 2 will arrive on August 2.

It’s a scientifically proven fact that if you were born and raised in LA, an inherent appreciation for David Lee Roth-era Van Halen is baked into your DNA. Indie pop synth duo The Bird and the Bee are definitely fans, as evidenced by their recent re-rub of “Hot For Teacher” off Van Halen’s debut eponymous full-length. But they’ve gone way deeper than just one track.
On August 8, The Bird and the Bee will release Interpreting the Masters Volume 2: A Tribute to Van Halen, which will include reinterpretations of classic rock ‘n’ roll gems like “Panama,” “Jump,” Jamie’s Cryin’,” the instrumental “Eruption,” and “Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love,” which dropped about a month ago.
“It would be so great if people who would never usually listen to Van Halen heard this record, and then ended falling in love with them too,” says multi-instrumentalist, and one-half of The Bird and the Bee, Greg Kurstin.
